Plan Review – Best Practices and Field Inspection Techniques for Residential Buildings

Event Sponsors

Eversource
Newport Ventures

The course focuses on residential buildings, with regard to best practices for plan review and what energy information the plan reviewer should be looking for in the set of construction documents submitted for permitting.  The course format is a hands-on approach during which attendees will review building architectural plans and details, mechanical system submittals, and lighting design to verify that the proposed systems meet requirements for the 2015 IECC with CT amendments.  The course also reviews the different prescriptive and performance compliance options with illustrations of the software and output reports that are typically used.  The course then moves to field inspections with illustrations and diagrams of what the code official should be looking for during each phase of construction as well as review of test reports that should be received with respect to envelope air leakage and duct tightness.  In addition to being an excellent guide to code officials, the course is also useful to design professionals and builders so that they understand what information must be provided when submitting their application for a building permit.

• Course Duration:  4 hours
